Cranfield University and Soprintendenza del Mare – Regione Siciliana together with scholars from the Honor Frost Foundation deployed YUCO Micro-AUVs for maritime archaeology projects. 🏺
3 YUCO-SCAN (680kHz and 200kHz) equipped with GoPro camera were deployed in deep-water in the Strait of Sicily to obtain sonar data and video footage of seafloor features.
The AUV fleet conducted daily the missions for a month at 200m depth: 75 square kilometers were duly surveyed and mapped. 🗺️
All the team managed to deploy and recover the YUCO-SCAN and were pretty impressed by its ease of use and the collected data.
The YUCO-SCAN is the most adapted micro-AUV on the market for your archaeology projects thanks to its impressive features:
🛥️ 1 person deployable in hard to access areas and any offshore conditions
✔️ Easy to use even for non-trained users
⏬ 300 meters depth rating
💻 Intuitive mission planning software
🔋 8 to 10 hours autonomy
🖼️ Great side scan sonar image quality
💸 Low cost survey methodology
Thanks to all the partners and especially to Dr. Lisa Briggs and Dr. Peter Campbell for their support.
