CNRS – Centre national de la recherche scientifique UMR6539/LEMAR and SEABER collaborate to operate new autonomous platforms in extreme environments.
The measurement of physical and chemical parameters of the water column is a prerequisite for any attempt to understand the functioning of coastal systems.
The technological maturity of micro-AUVs associated with coastal implementations requires new operational approaches.
This is why the CNRS and SEABER have come together for this collaboration agreement, which should make it possible to acquire new data (frequency, spatial variations) and to test the equipment in severe or extreme subarctic and polar conditions.
The YUCO-CTD equipped with a LegatoCTD from RBR Ltd. is travelling to Saint Pierre et Miquelon for the first of its numerous deployments.
