It’s even better with video… and even more if you can go REAAALLY close from the shipwreck! 🎬🔎
With great stability, smooth and accurate navigation, we get wonderful images!
Let’s plunge with the YUCO to see what our team had seen a couple of months ago by sending a YUCO-SCAN flying at 6 meters of altitude to dive over a CYRANO / M-4021 sunken down to 18 meters depth.
This time, we went back using a YUCO-SCAN-CAM, equipped with a camera+light, along with the scan ! 📸
Because of YUCO’s navigation capability and our knowledge of the area, we were able to get this incredible footage of the submarine wreck at close range.
This is the perfect combination for underwater imagery, environmental monitoring and marine archeology.
Want to learn more about this CYRANO ? Then it’s history time ! 📖
32 meters length, 7 meters width, this tugboat was built in 1926 for the « Union Normande » of Rouen and then requisitioned in 1940 by the Germans in Morlaix. It was renamed M-4021 and used as a minesweeper in charge of cleaning the access channels of the submarine base in Lorient. It sank on January 28th, 1944 because of the explosion of a magnetic mine.
