YUCO-PHYSICO as pollution-hunter is chasing rhodamine tracers in the Estuary of the St. Lawrence River”, near Rimouski – Canada.
Results are over expectations!
Together with Dalhousie University SEABER team deployed YUCO micro AUV equipped with an AML 3-RT sonde with 3 x sensors, Fluorimeter, CTD and SVP.
The Tracer Release Experiment (or TReX) is an ambitious field and modelling experiment co-funded by MEOPAR and the Réseau Québec Maritime (RQM).
During 4 days, more than 15 x deployments of the YUCO-PHYSICO were performed using the high speed and manoeuvrability of the YUCO to chase and do transects through the Rhodamine cloud.
Gathering runs of more than 25km total distance and accuracy of navigation over expectations. This deployment leads the way to innovative way to track and follow pollutant in hydrodynamic environments.
What a wonderful opportunity to showcase capabilities of YUCO-PHYSICO.
A big thanks to all the team from Dalhousie University for the warm welcome, great discussions and their wonderful support throughout the project !
